Then, after thirty minutes, you are safe to brush your teeth.

Forgetting to Replace Your Toothbrush

Old toothbrushes are ineffective at cleaning your teeth. Not only that, but bacteria can make a home on the bristles. You should change out your toothbrush every three months, or with each season change. Make sure you also change them anytime you are ill.

Bleaching Your Teeth Often

Everyone wants to have a white smile, but becoming overzealous about bleaching your teeth can lead to sensitivity. Before you use any at-home product, talk to your dentist about the formulation. Then, you can get advice on how often to use it and if the ingredients are safe for your needs.

Buying the Wrong Toothbrush

Using a hard-bristled toothbrush leads to irreversible damage to the gums, especially if you brush aggressively. Make sure to purchase a toothbrush that features soft bristles and use it at a 45-degree angle. The best way to brush is in a circular motion as sawing back and forth leads to receding gums which cause more sensitivity.
