What can I expect at a dental exam?
We will always verify your insurance benefit prior to your visit so you will know if you are covered. We will also send you a text or email reminder to help you get to our office on the right day and time.
Once you are here, you will be greeted by one of our knowledgeable and friendly team members who will get your child’s height and weight and take any x-rays that the doctor needs. The assistant will begin the visit by asking the caregiver and child if they have any questions or concerns. The doctor will come in to do an exam to make sure all the teeth and the gum tissue is healthy and well cared for as well as make any recommendations that he may have. The doctor and assistant will then work together to get your child’s teeth and gum tissue clean.
When should my child first see a Pediatric Dentist?
The American Association of Pediatric Dentists recommend that every child have their first dental check-up by their first birthday. This visit is an important part of healthy oral hygiene habits that last a lifetime. Visiting a pediatric dentist early will also make your child more comfortable with dental cleanings as they grow older. Our offices are the perfect starting point for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
How often should my child see a Pediatric Dentist?
We would like to see you and your child every six months. This is a widely accepted time frame that is recommended by the American Association of Pediatric Dentists and by most insurance companies for reimbursement. Kids move and grow fast! A lot can happen in 6 months with their dental development. We also like to see them every six months to monitor healthy brushing and eating habits. Keeping this 6 month routine will help identify risky behaviors and increase the health of their smiles. If you have any questions about the pediatric dentistry exams we perform please do not hesitate to call us.
