What to Expect
Make your first visit easy
Here at Starting Point Dental, we love making dental visits low-stress and fun! One way we do that is by helping parents and patients know what to expect on their first dental visit.
You can call us at any of our convenient locations, and we’ll get you booked with one of our amazing pediatric dentists or orthodontists.
Before your appointment, we supply you with some paperwork to fill out and resources to prepare you and your child for the appointment.
Our amazing staff will greet you at your appointment and help you check in. Be sure to bring your ID, insurance, and a form of payment.
Then you’ll get to meet with your pediatric dentist and ask any questions you have about your child’s needs and goals.
After your visit, you’ll get any post-care instructions, a new toothbrush, and your child’s next appointment scheduled to keep them on the healthy smile path!
Tips And Tricks for a successful appointment
What is a pediatric dentist?
While not all kiddos are old enough to ask, we always want parents to feel confident in helping their little ones feel comfortable and excited about their appointment.
Great explanations include:
- We help take care of your teeth!
- We’re the tooth fairy’s helpers!
- The dentist teaches you how to have strong teeth!
Customize your treatment plan!
One size does not fit all! Be sure to let us know your concerns or goals for your child’s oral health. We always customize our appointments to the individual patient’s needs. A routine appointment would include any images or x-rays that are appropriate, a cleaning or prophy from one of our specially trained team members, an exam by our doctor, and a time for the doctor and parents to discuss any findings or recommendations.
Don’t forget your benefits!
Did you know most insurance covers the full fee of routine check-ups? Your individual plan may vary, but we will let you know that ahead of time. If you don’t have insurance, please call our office; we would love to work with you to help your child get the care they need.
